SANDY MORIARTY ARTIST STATEMENT It is difficult for me to measure the amount of joy I receive from taking photos. Only my family knows how I long to spend each waking moment photographing everything I see. My time out in nature is time I use to pray to God and embrace the wondrous perfection of his creation. What moves me is the intricate splendor of nature and the uniqueness of each subject. No two people are alike, no two trees are identical, nor do two flowers look alike. That is the magnificence of God’s creation. Likewise, each moment I photograph is an original moment in time never to be experienced again. Being able to freeze that which inspires me and catches my eye at just the right second brings me great satisfaction. I use a Canon 5-D. I also photograph with an antique Minolta camera using infrared film.
